As we’ve been following closely , former WWE Tag Team Champion Dragon Lee’s WWE contract is set to expire soon. WWE’s use of Dragon Lee since his 2022 debut has drawn heavy scrutiny. As the luchador’s contract was coming to expiry , Dragon Lee and Dralistico filed to trademark the name Hermanos Lee. Rumors started swirling that the Muñoz González family would unite with brother RUSH in AEW. Now, RUSH has bid farewell to AEW fans! As all of this news unfolds, we also have the latest Dragon Lee-WWE update.
On a recent episode of Unreal on Netflix, Paul “Triple H” Levesque told Dragon Lee to be more careful during his death-defying stunts. The Chief Content Officer explained that he wanted the luchador to be around for years to come. Now, The Game is trying to make good on his word.
Multiple reports indicate that WWE offered Dragon Lee a five-year contract. While Dragon Lee hasn’t signed his new WWE contract, it’s expected that the former NXT North American Champion will re-sign with the TKO-owned company .
WWE has used Dragon Lee regularly since his 2022 debut. However, many have questioned how devoted the company was to his push. Dragon Lee has been used in lower-to-midcard matches for most of his run. Many feel Dragon Lee has been lost in the shuffle of the Latino World Order.
That said, the new master of the Styles Clash has seen a more prominent push recently. Dragon Lee has been placed in star-making performances, including this past Monday’s Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Title against Chad Gable and Rey Mysterio.
It’s unknown if Dralistico will join his brother as Dragon Lee-WWE negotiations wind down. That said, there were rumors of the Hermanos Lee joining RUSH in AEW. With Dragon Lee re-signing with WWE, that seems highly unlikely. This crossover seems ever less feasible as RUSH recently bid adieu to the AEW audience on social media.
Yesterday, the internet was buzzing with rumors about the status of Dragon Lee’s older brother, RUSH. The La Facción Ingobernable took to X to share a shocking farewell to wrestling fans, signaling that he was going to be away for the rest of the year.
RUSH shared an ominous message that had AEW fans worried:
With Dragon Lee’s ongoing WWE negotiations and the Hermanos Lee trademark, many AEW loyalists questioned if RUSH was WWE-bound.
Even though the Dragon Lee-WWE deal is almost done, don’t expect his older brother to join any time soon. RUSH is still with AEW. His post about seeing everyone in 2027 was in reference to his work visa expiring.
The Mexico native shared:
Although Dragon Lee could enter free agency soon, there is concern about bringing him into AEW. Tony Khan thought Dragon Lee was going to join his company in 2022. In fact, Dragon Lee and Dralistico defeated AEW’s FTR for the AAA Tag Team Titles. On the same night, Dragon Lee vacated the Championship and announced he was heading to WWE.
While some say Dragon Lee burned a bridge with AEW, some are still pushing Tony Khan to make a Hail Mary offer. Some believe that bringing in Dragon Lee will further draw the narrative that stars like Ilja Dragunov and The New Level are choosing AEW over WWE. In the end, it looks like a hard sell, as Dragon Lee and WWE are close to putting pen to paper.
